How to Get to the Store

This is a great pattern for your favorite eyelash yarn. It’s a scarf with a trick: It’s knit in a tube so that it can be worn as a scarf or a cowl. You may have seen these around in shops and at the mall.

The key to this is to knit very, very loosely.

Materials:

  • At least 80 yards of your favorite eyelash yarn. I used Linie 42 Plush.

  • #19 circular needles. I use 35” circulars, which were, admittedly, a bit of a tight fit.

Gauge: Approx. 1 stitch/inch (it’s so stretchy, it’s hard to tell)

Cast on 22 sts as loosely as possible.

Join and knit in the round until you have only enough yarn to bind off.

Bind off as loosely as possible.

The key to this scarf is the cast on and bind off. Both should be loose enough so that the scarf can be stretched wide over the head. It is normal for the scarf to flare a little at either end.
